The working group „Composites/Materials in Sports“ of Composites United invites you to the initial conference. We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring and forward-looking exchange centered around the development and application of (composite) materials in the sports sector.
The event is dedicated to exploring the future of sports equipment through innovation and sustainability. Our working group, focused on optimizing advanced materials and production techniques, is excited to share insights on enhancing performance while maximizing ecological and economic benefits.
With sustainability at the core of our mission, we will delve into the entire product life cycle, from material sourcing to recycling, and discuss how bio-based and recyclable materials can shape a more sustainable future for the sports industry. Additionally, we want to highlight the importance of collaboration across the value chain.
Join us as we explore the advantages of composite materials in sports, their impact on athlete performance, and how interdisciplinary collaboration between industry partners, scientists, and athletes is driving the sports industry towards new levels of efficiency and sustainability. This event will serve as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and the development of innovative solutions that benefit both, performance and the planet.
The event will be complemented by an overview of European funding programmes that support collaborative projects.
We schedule a total of 5 Keynotes (25 minutes) and about 20 presentations (10 minutes), each followed by a short and dynamic panel and Q&A session on the following key topics:
- Sustainability/Circularity
- Production in Europe
- Cross-industry synergies
- Status quo of research in fibre composites
- Other related topics
Additionally, we will have a pitching session with about 15 quick pitches (3-5 minutes, max)
An evening event will be held on the evening of the first day (28 January) to provide an opportunity for a relaxed exchange and for participants to get to know each other. Details will follow shortly.
