The Ceramic Composites network of Composites United e. V. is an association of companies and research institutions in the field of ceramic composites. Together, the members of Ceramic Composites cover the entire value chain from R&D to precursors (fibers and matrices), manufacturing, application and the finished product.
Ceramic composites have their potential where high operating temperatures are combined with strong mechanical stress and, in some cases, oxidizing ambient conditions. Brake discs in vehicle construction, heat protection in space vehicles, components in furnace construction and crucibles for crystal growth are examples of applications that have already been tapped.
The aim of the Ceramic Composites Network is also to develop new applications in future markets and to create the scientific and technical conditions for this. Read more about our objectives and our engagement for the development and dissemination of fiber ceramics for the benefit of German society and industry in our position paper.
The network was founded in November 2008 with its headquarter in Augsburg. We are active in the fields of network development, technology, knowledge and marketing. If you are looking for access to new cooperation partners, you are welcome to join us.
Specific working groups of the network
In the Ceramic Composites network, various working groups are active along the entire value network. Currently active are the working groups:
- Finishing CMC Surface Technology CMC/CFRP in cooperation with DKG
- Virtual CMC product development
- Hybrid CMC
- Reinforcement of Ceramic Materials in cooperation with DGM and DKG
- PhD Working Group of Ceramic Composites
