The regional cluster CU Austria strengthens and bundles the competencies of highperformance companies and research institutions in Austria, which position themselves around the topic of CFRP.

As an independent association under Austrian association law, the regional cluster is headed by Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Roland Markus Hinterhölzl (Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences, head of the Lightweight Construction and Composite Materials course at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Natural Sciences) together with Rene Adam (FACC Operation GmbH), Markus Wolfahrt (Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH) and Gerald Pinter (University of Leoben).

In addition to thematically oriented workshops and a series of further education offers, a coordinated cooperation of the members in terms of content is strengthened within the framework of working groups. Currently the working group Engineering is headed by Dr. Markus Wolfahrt (Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH) and the working group Manufacturing Processes is headed by Manuel Frank (FH Oberösterreich).

As the National Thematic Network (NTN) and the Swiss regional cluster of Composites United e.V. (CU), the networking of those involved in the high-performance fibre composites sector in Switzerland is our prime concern. We want to bring about this networking through events such as the members’ meeting, working group meetings, themed days, presence at trade fairs and conferences as well as active exchanges between members, general management and the Management Board.

Composites United Switzerland and our members organise a variety of events on the subject of high-performance fibre composites and attend relevant trade fairs and conferences. The current events in Switzerland are included in our calendar.

    Training and advanced training

Some of our members offer advanced training events in the area of high-performance fibre composites. These are included in the training programme of Composites United e.V. (CU) and also in our calendar. In future, Composites United Switzerland is planning to take on an active role with relevant partners for the training and advanced training of professional people and engineers, in order to significantly improve the offer in these areas in Switzerland.

As the National Thematic Network of the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse, Composites United Switzerland is the ideal platform for implementing your project ideas in collaborative ventures such as Innosuisse projects or EU projects. If you have project or product ideas in the area of high-performance fibre composites and are searching for suitable partners from industry, universities or research institutes do not hesitate to contact our office. We will help you find the appropriate project partner for you from our members.
