LightCon will be held this year on 1 and 2 June as an independent event parallel to HANNOVER MESSE. The world’s most important industrial trade fair has been moved from April to June (30 May to 2 June) due to the current pandemic. The new LightCon congress fair for lightweight design is therefore moving from Hall 2 to Halls 19 and 20, directly at the main North 1 entrance to the Hannover exhibition grounds next to the light rail stop.

A combined ticket is being planned that will make use of the synergies of both events. Visitors to LightCon will receive access to the world’s leading trade fair for the industry with their trade fair ticket. At the same time, visitors to HANNOVER MESSE can find out about the economic efficiency and innovative multi-material approach to lightweight construction at LightCon.

LightCon is the first international lightweight design platform to present hybrid and sustainable lightweight design solutions across technologies and materials. It combines the aspects of material, process, function and design and addresses all user sectors of lightweight design.

This year’s LightCon conference motto is “Lightweight Design on the Path to Circular Economy” and focuses on the global challenges of resource efficiency, sustainability and climate protection as well as the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The trade fair is supported, among others, by Composites United as a founding partner as well as by the German Federal Ministry of Economics, which invests large amounts of funding in the topic of lightweight design in order to advance Germany in this area.
