The Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies and Composites United e. V. have organized with great success for the first time a joint booth at the trade fair Kompozyt Expo in Krakow in September 2022. This trade fair is one of the most important meeting points for the composites industry in Poland and Central Europe.
Composites United e. V. (CU) cooperates with the Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies (PKTK) to position Europe as a strong location for fiber-based multi-material lightweight design and its contribution to meeting the goals of the Green Deal. Within a short period of time, the PKTK has managed to establish itself as a top Polish cluster and brings together around 100 members of the Polish fiber composite industry operating along the entire value chain from textile and resin production to material development, mold making, component and system manufacturing, and recycling. The cooperation between the two associations creates great added value for the member companies and institutes in the DACH region as well as in Poland, as the cooperation facilitates mutual market access and the search for potential cooperation partners.
As part of this cross-border cooperation, the PKTK and the CU organized an exhibition stand with 19 sub-exhibitors from science and industry for the first time at the Kompozyt Expo in Krakow on September 28 and 29, 2022. The exhibitors were enthusiastic about the event, the intensive exchange as well as the expert workshops and the accompanying lecture program, which took place under the motto “Hydrogen – Composite – Future”. Speakers from science and industry talked about the development and promotion of hydrogen technologies and approaches for cooperation in this field. But the event also focused on other current topics such as the use of fiber composites in construction, sports and leisure applications as well as sustainability and recycling solutions.
The German-Polish cooperation between PKTK and CU was also well received by representatives of politics and European institutions. Tomasz Salomon from the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Dr. Lars Gutheil (Executive Member of the Board of the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce) as well as Dr. Rainer Müller (Germany Trade and Invest) spoke in their presentations about current framework conditions and trends as well as about possibilities of cooperation on a national and international level and signaled their support to both associations.
The next joint event highlight is already being planned: LightCon, the congress trade show for lightweight solutions, will be held at the Hannover Exhibition Center on June 13 and 14, 2023. The event will be organized by Deutsche Messe AG together with CU, and the partner country for the event will be Poland. Under the motto “Lightweight design as the answer to energy and material scarcity”, a varied program of presentations and exhibitions awaits you. Further information about LightCon can be found here.
