The Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies (PKTK) followed our invitation to visit CU’s joint booth on JEC WORLD fair. The meeting on May 03, 2022 was the continuation of a cooperation, which has been ongoing for several month already and follows a visit of CU’s representatives Dr. Gunnar Merz and Martin Kretschmann in Kraków/Poland earlier this year.
Dr. Andrzej Czulak (PKTK’s founder & CEO) gave a short presentation about the Polish cluster and recent activities followed by a discussion about future collaboration. Finally, the official signing of an LOI took place. The document formalizes and underlines mutual goals of the partnership and planned events, such as a common booth on the KOMPOZYT EXPO fair in Kraków (28th – 29th of September 2022) and a Polish/German innovation day.
“Within just a few years, PKTK has succeeded in establishing itself as a crucial player in the composites sector on the growth market of Poland. The CU is very pleased to have gained such a strong partner east of the Oder River. We are already quite excited about the first jointly organized events, which will allow our members to benefit from even broader market access, new potential cooperation partners and much more,” says CU’s CEO Dr. Gunnar Merz.
Dr. Andrzej Czulak noted, that “The DACH region is undoubtedly one of the most innovative composite markets in the world and has an enormous number and range of R&D and industry performers. For our Polish members, the cooperation with the CU and the resulting access to its network is therefore an enormous added value. However, I am convinced that Poland exhibits several hidden champions in the field of lightweight technologies, which make it highly attractive as a partner for both manufacturing and development. This year’s Krakow Composites Fair, which we are organizing together with the CU, offers a suitable platform to advance our ambitions.”
PKTK, which was awarded the prestigious status of a key cluster in Poland, gathers around 100 members operating along the entire value chain from textile and resin production to material development, through mold making as well as component and system manufacturing.
