Since its inception over 15 years ago, ITHEC has been considered one of the world’s leading events in the field of thermoplastic composites and has been organised by M3B GmbH/CONGRESS BREMEN. Every two years, the international specialist community meets in Bremen to discuss the latest research results, industrial applications and technological developments along the entire value chain.

In addition to the scientific conference with specialist presentations, the event also includes an international exhibition where companies present innovative materials, machines, manufacturing processes and solutions related to thermoplastic composites. Through its close links between research and industry, ITHEC offers a central platform for knowledge exchange, innovation and new collaborations.

The event will continue to be organised in close cooperation with the Faserinstitut Bremen e. V. (FIBRE), which will retain its role as scientific advisor and will be responsible in particular for the international programme committee. The steering board will also continue to provide active support in 2026 as usual.

Together, we want to further develop the event and strengthen the international visibility of the thermoplastic composites community.”

The event is also of great strategic importance for CU. Many of the network’s approximately 350 members work with thermoplastic composites along the value chain. “ITHEC is a very important platform for professional exchange of R&D results and networking – both for our members and for the entire international thermoplastic composites community,” explains Dr. Tjark von Reden, CEO of Composites United. “It is therefore in the best interests of our network that this established series of events has a strong future.” He adds: “We are delighted about the continued support from M3B GmbH, which enables us to retain the Congress Centrum Bremen as the venue. The advertising partnerships with Composites World and SAMPE will also be continued, unleashing the full potential of the composite community.”

Call for abstracts for ITHEC 2026 launched

The call for abstracts for ITHEC 2026 is already open. Researchers, companies and developers are invited to submit their current work and projects by March 31, 2026. The international programme committee will review the submissions. Notification of acceptance is planned for May 2026.

Exhibitors and sponsors wanted

ITHEC offers companies and research institutions an ideal platform to present their technologies, materials and solutions in the field of thermoplastic composites to an international audience of experts. Parallel to the conference, a trade exhibition will also take place again in 2026.
