The Swiss ski manufacturer zai, together with the Institute of Materials Technology and Plastics Processing (IWK) at the University of Applied Sciences in Eastern Switzerland, is conducting scientific research into the parameters that determine the performance of alpine skis. One focus is on damping, which has a significant influence on the smoothness of the ski. For this purpose, a test stand was built to test the properties of various materials and material composites.
The “zai EcoSwiss” project is supported by Innosuisse. Read the interview with the project leaders.
