Sandwich construction based on fiber-reinforced plastics enables highly efficient lightweight structures and thus already makes an enormous contribution to resource conservation in a wide range of applications.
While “lightweight construction” is a very broadly discussed topic at many meetings and conferences, there are only a few conferences worldwide that focus on sandwich construction and sandwich core materials. For the exchange of knowledge on current trends in material and technology development in the field of fiber composite sandwich construction, ThermHex Waben GmbH and Fraunhofer IMWS organize the Fiber Composite Sandwich Conference in Halle (Saale).
In addition to the technical exchange and the opportunity for networking, new fields of application of sandwich materials will be highlighted and discussed. The conference participants will additionally be offered a visit to the production of ThermHex Waben GmbH and a guided tour at the Fraunhofer Pilot Plant Center for Polymer Synthesis and Processing on the eve of the conference.
