Recycling and sustainability processes in the fiber composite sector

ReFiberTech is a Bavarian cross-cluster project by MAI Carbon, the Bavarian Chemical Industry Cluster, and the Bavarian Environmental Cluster to strengthen the circular economy of fiber composites. The aim is to systematically record and process current technologies, best practices, and future potential along the R strategies—in particular recycling, reuse, and repair—and make them accessible to companies.

The project brings together existing expertise from industry and research, analyzes new developments such as innovative recycling processes, bio-based fibers and matrix systems, and sustainable material concepts, and publishes them in practical fact sheets. Building on this, innovation workshops bring companies and research institutions together across clusters to develop concrete ideas, business cases, and cooperation approaches for recyclable composite solutions.

ReFiberTech supports Bavarian companies in expanding their technological expertise, tapping into new value creation potential, and preparing early on for the regulatory requirements of the circular economy.
