Europe is finally putting real momentum behind the Digital Product Passport. DigiPass – the EU project in which Composites United participates as consortium member – is opening its doors for companies ready to build a concrete DPP demonstrator for their materials, intermediate products, or final products.
The Open Call runs from 15 December 2025 to 16 February 2026.
What’s the point?
DigiPass will select up to three industry partners to co-create a fully functional DPP Demo Case directly on the DigiPass platform.
No abstract reports. No theoretical frameworks. A real, operational demonstrator.
What do selected companies get?
In short: expertise, infrastructure, and hands-on support — at zero cost.
More specifically:
- Access to the DigiPass platform for building the DPP demonstrator
- Support in structuring data, integrating datasets, and creating custom forms
- Publication of the demo case with a unique product identifier & QR code
- Training & webinars, including:
Introduction to the DPP, regulations & requirements
Functional unit conversion for DPP data
Application-based taxonomy
Platform usage and data-handling workflows
All services are fully funded by the EU project. Companies contribute only their time and expertise — and walk away with a tangible, future-proof DPP prototype for their product.
Who can apply?
- SMEs, large companies, and industrial associations
- EU-based and Horizon Europe–associated organisations
- Strongly encouraged: projects under Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (HORIZON-CL4-2023/2024)
How it works
- Online application until 16 February 2026 (24:00 CET)
- Evaluation by the DigiPass Committee (results in early March 2026)
- Signing of the Open Call Collaboration Agreement (OCCA)
- Start of the DPP Demo Case implementation with DigiPass experts
Why this matters for CU members
Because composite manufacturers, material developers, and Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers will face DPP obligations sooner rather than later.
This Open Call is a shortcut to:
- test internal data structures,
- understand upcoming regulatory requirements,
- prepare for ESPR, CPR & emerging DPP standards,
- and position your organisation as an early mover in digital sustainability.
Our verdict:
If your business touches advanced materials, lightweight structures, or complex value chains, this is an opportunity to sharpen your digital readiness without paying for the privilege.
