Lightweight design is essential for many industries to secure their future competitiveness. Thanks to greater material and resource efficiency, this key technology not only holds great economic potential, but also contributes to environmental and climate protection across all sectors.

In order to give players the opportunity to draw potential partners’ and customers’ attention to themselves and their lightweight design activities, the LEICHTBAUATLAS, launched by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, has established itself. The cost-free and interactive platform presents, among others, companies, universities, research institutions as well as associations and their competences in the field of lightweight design. The profiles are presented across materials and technologies as well as industry-neutral with a regional reference. An extensive filter with around 250 criteria allows users to search specifically for partners or suppliers and also to be found themselves.

Currently, almost 700 organizations are registered, including more than 250 SMEs and over 100 large companies. More and more lightweight design partners outside Germany are also using the tool, which is available in German and English. At the present time, more than 20 European partners from six European member states are already represented.

Become part of the lightweight design community now and benefit from the networking and information opportunities! Registration is free of charge and does not require much time.
