Member Swiss CMT cooperates in the Eurostars research project “MarineCare – Sustainable composites from recycled carbon fibres and bio-based powder resin for maritime applications” with the Leibniz Institute for Composite Materials GmbH and GREENBOATS® Sustainable Composites to improve sustainability in the maritime sector. The aim of the project is to develop a composite material in sandwich construction and an associated waste-minimising manufacturing process. The sandwich structure combines a foam core made of recycled PET, with cover layers made of recycled carbon fibres (rCF) and a thermoset, bio-based epoxy resin. Swiss CMT is responsible for the development of the epoxy resin powder
