Sandwich construction based on fiber-reinforced plastics enables highly efficient lightweight structures and thus already makes an enormous contribution to resource conservation in a large number of applications.
While “lightweight construction” is a very broadly discussed topic at ivelen meetings and conferences, there are only a few conferences worldwide that focus on sandwich construction and sandwich core materials. For the exchange of knowledge on current trends in material and technology development in the field of fiber composite sandwich construction, ThermHex Waben GmbH and Fraunhofer IMWS are organizing the Fiber Composite Sandwich Conference in Halle (Saale). The event is supported by Composites United, SKZ and KUZ.
In addition to the technical exchange and the opportunity for networking, new fields of application of sandwich materials will be highlighted and discussed. Conference participants will additionally be offered a visit to the production facility of ThermHex Waben GmbH and a guided tour at the Fraunhofer Pilot Plant Center for Polymer Synthesis and Processing on the eve of the conference.
