Walter E.C. Pritzkow Spezialkeramik (WPS), founded in 1994, develops oxide ceramic matrix composites (OCMC) under the brand name Keramikblech®. These materials are used to develop and produce components for high-temperature applications. Current areas of application include aluminum casting, furnace and plant construction, chemical process engineering, aerospace, and concentrated solar power (CSP).
Morgan Advanced Materials Haldenwanger GmbH (Haldenwanger) was founded in 1865 as a porcelain manufacturer by Wilhelm Haldenwanger. In 1997, W. Haldenwanger GmbH&Co.KG was taken over by the Morgan Group. Today, the product range consists mainly of technical ceramics.
In 2019, WPS and Haldenwanger began working closely together on the development of hybrid tubes made of ceramic tubes with OCMC wrapping for BASF. This led to Haldenwanger’s interest in acquiring the materials and know-how to produce components. On November 14, 2025, the transfer of expertise was contractually agreed. The transfer of expertise will take place by the end of 2027. From January 1, 2028, all products will be further developed, produced, and delivered by Haldenwanger under the brand name Keramikblech®. Walter E.C. Pritzkow Spezialkeramik will close on December 31, 2027.
