MAI Carbon Events

MAI Carbon offers different event formats for the exchange and networking of its members.

We, the leading cluster MAI Carbon des Composites United e.V. (CU), have been pursuing the goal of implementing lightweight construction technologies on a large industrial scale for various user sectors across Bavaria since our foundation in 2012.

MAI Carbon has a broadly diversified portfolio of events with different focuses and formats that will enable you to network, exchange and cooperate. Whether live on site or in virtual space, MAI Carbon brings you and your organisation together with specialists, experts and interested parties.

MAI Carbon Strategy Workshop

The MAI Carbon Strategy Workshop has established itself in the calendar of events as a fixed component at the beginning of the 2nd quarter of each year and serves the cluster management to coordinate the future cluster strategy and the fields of action with the partner companies. The event serves to further develop the cluster strategy, to elect the executive committee and get positive and negative feedback of the members. All cluster partners are of course invited.

You will receive first-hand information on current events, topics and challenges of the cluster. This well-founded information will serve you as a basis for the subsequent workshops in which you can directly participate and represent the interests of your company. This ensures that all cluster partners can participate in the further development of the cluster and in setting the course for the future.

MAI Carbon Project Forum

The MAI Carbon Project Forum also takes place annually at the end of the 3rd quarter. The aim is to provide a forum for current R&D activities of MAI partners and to make them accessible to a broad public.

The event format aims to present the results of the MAI Carbon and CU R&D projects. During the 1-2 days event, there will be enough time for networking in addition to the lectures during the breaks and at the joint evening event, first ideas for new projects can be discussed. In the meantime, the MAI Carbon Project Forum has established itself as the event for research and development in the entire Composites United e.V. and is thus open to a wider audience.

MAI Night

The MAI Night is a networking format especially developed to increase the visibility of small and medium-sized companies in the Leading-Edge Cluster.

If you are an SME, contact us and we will take over the entire organisation for this special format for you. On behalf of the SME, MAI Carbon invites a selected group of MAI Carbon partners to an evening at the SME to present the competencies and strengths of the SME to the participants and to provide a framework for networking. The thematic focus of the MAI Night will depend on the field of activity of the host SME and its project activities at MAI Carbon. The MAI Night offers a great opportunity for SMEs to present themselves in the network.

MAI TecDay

The MAI TecDay is a special networking format for large companies and is the counterpart to the MAI Night. With the support of MAI Carbon, a large company can invite a selected group of SMEs to its premises in order to receive a detailed presentation of their range of services in previously defined areas. This introduction takes place both with a short presentation and the possibility to present the SME at a small booth. In the run-up to the event, MAI Carbon takes over the coordination and organisation with the hosting large company on the subject areas that are of interest to them and offer current or future potential for cooperation. On the basis of this information, MAI Carbon then identifies the relevant SMEs and invites them to the MAI TecDay in consultation with the hosting company.

Working Groups

Exchange ideas with other experts at the highest professional level and discuss possible new developments in different working groups of Composites United. The current 35 working groups cover all areas along the value chain. The working groups are open to all members of MAI Carbon. Take advantage of the working group to find out about the latest technological developments, exchange information and network with other experts.

Joint stands at trade fairs

The Leading-Edge Cluster MAI Carbon participates in all national and international trade fairs that are important for its partners.

Together with Composites United, trade fair appearances are organised for the partners. This reduces the costs for the individual exhibitors and allows them to benefit from a common infrastructure. At the same time, the Leading-Edge Cluster MAI Carbon can present the visitors a broad spectrum of its partners and thus also its expertise. Trade fairs with regular participation by MAI Carbon include:

JEC World in Paris: The world’s largest composites show is a must for all companies and institutes in the composites industry. The latest developments and trends are shown and presented here.

Hannover Messe: The largest industrial fair in the world is a strategically important trade fair for MAI Carbon. It also reaches industries, companies and sectors that are not to be found at the relevant composites trade fairs. At the same time, the current state of the art can be presented to a broad public via exhibits on loan from partners or from projects, because the Hannover Messe does not only reach a specialist audience. In addition, every year at the Hanover Messe we receive numerous enquiries for end products, components or know-how support, which we can pass on directly to our network and the respective partners and establish contact. In this way the whole network benefits from the trade fair presence.

Other international fairs: MAI Carbon also offers joint stands at other international trade fairs. If there are enough participants, this will be implemented in close cooperation with the trade fair organisers.
