Filament winding experts present themselves at the leading trade fair \u201cJEC World\u201c in Paris<\/h3>

The filament winding experts from Roth Composite Machinery are travelling to Paris with an innovative automation concept for reliable fiber changes as well as the new special winding software “\u00b5RoWin”: The composites industry will meet there from April 25 to 27, 2023 for the leading international trade fair JEC World.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our CU member Roth Composite Machinery (RCM) will be at the JEC World with an international team of experts from Germany, the USA, Korea and China and will present its service portfolio as well as latest innovations in Hall 5, Stand K6.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fast and safe fiber change<\/strong><\/p>

The new splicing unit, which emerged from the company’s own development work and proves to be very powerful in the trial phase, is likely to be a particular eye-catcher. This is an innovative automation concept in which compressed air is used to swirl the individual fibers for all fiber strands in parallel to create a secure connection with the changeable\u00a0fibers. Until now, the rovings have either been knotted or spliced by hand when they are changed – a process being not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. The automated process, together with the corresponding machine, can realise the fiber changing process quickly and safely.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Special software optimises simulation and process<\/strong><\/p>

Automation, safety and time saving are also the focus of the further highlight at the JEC World 2023: The new winding software \u00b5RoWin. The software solution for generating programs for the machine movement has been specially adapted to the high-level filament winding machines of Roth Composite Machinery. It offers a fluent workflow and allows all relevant input parameters to be checked at any time. This transparency and precision of the algorithms anchored in the software ensure the highest placement accuracy of the fibers \u2013 and is thus an important instrument for the quality assurance.<\/p>

The powerful and user-friendly special software not only optimises the winding process, but already ensures maximum efficiency beforehand: the structure can be designed and optimised via 3D simulation. This “digital twin” can then be transferred to the machine as a control code simply by pressing a button.<\/p>
