Dr. h. c. mult. Klaus Friedrich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On September 9, 2021, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. mult. Klaus Friedrich was posthumously awarded the Medal of Excellence in Composite Materials during an honorary session dedicated to him at the &#8220;30 Years of Leibniz-Institut f\u00fcr Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH (IVW)&#8221; celebratory colloquium. The medal was presented to Professor Friedrich&#8217;s wife Elke Friedrich by Dr. Karl Steiner, Vice President for Research and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).<\/p>\n<p>Professor Friedrich passed away on May 29, 2021.
