In order to exploit these advantages and accelerate the industrial application of innovative mixed designs, the working group offers a platform for the exchange and discussion of individual topic-related problems in an extended circle of experts from industry and science. True to the motto “The right material, in the right place, at the right price and with the right ecology” (quotation from Prof. Werner Hufenbach), the WG Multi-Material Design deals in particular with the topics:

Lightweight structures in mixed design, e.g. fiber composite/metal combinations,

Adapted joining and separation technologies,

Interface design and functionalisation,

Functional integration, e.g. through sensors and actuators,

Technologies for the production of hybrid components and parts,

Design and simulation as well as characterisation and testing of hybrid structures and

Individual proposals from the members.

[203,204
178
